Estate Planning

Every good estate plan begins with a conversation. From simple wills to living trusts to everything in between, we work with you to create a custom estate plan.  Are you worried about your property going through probate? Do you want to provide for your children and grandchildren? Do you want to ensure your farm remains in the family? In creating your custom estate plan, we work with a variety of documents including wills, beneficiary deeds, powers of attorney, living wills, and various trusts, including revocable, irrevocable, and special needs trusts.

Probate

After a loved one dies, sometimes property must go through the court system called probate before that property can be distributed to family or other persons named in a Will.  This can happen when someone does not have a trust or has not otherwise made an estate plan that helps to avoid probate. We know the process can feel overwhelming, and we are there with you every step of the way, ensuring that the required documents are filed and that the case properly moves through probate.
